• 2-1/2 cups pretzels, coarsely crushed
  • 1/2 cup margarine or butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup + 3 tbsp sugar, divided
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 16 ounces Cool Whip
  • 2 3-ounce boxes strawberry gelatin
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2 10-ounce packages frozen sliced strawberries

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix pretzels, margarine, and 3 tablespoons sugar together and pat into a greased 9″ x 13″ pan. Bake 10 minutes. Cool completely.

Cream the cheese, blend in remaining 3/4 cup sugar, then add Cool Whip. Mix well. Spread over the cooled pretzel mixture. Refrigerate while you prepare the gelatin mixture.

Dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Add frozen berries, breaking up with a fork as you stir. Chill this mixture until slightly thickened, then pour over the Cool Whip layer. Chill until set.
