- 1-1/2 cups sifted powdered sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
- 2-1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp cream of tartar
Mix butter and sugar. Add eggs, vanilla, and almond extract; blend thoroughly. Sift flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar together. Stir into sugar mixture. Cover and refrigerate 2-3 hours.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spray a cookie sheet with no-stick spray; set aside.
Divide dough in half and roll out on lightly floured pastry cloth to 3/16″ thickness. Cut out shapes with cookie cutters and place on cookie sheet. Cut as many cookies as possible from each rolling.
Sprinkle cookies with sugar. Bake 7-8 minutes or until delicately golden. Remove to wire rack to cool.
